Vintage Mystery Challenge 2012 completed

I have completed the Vintage Mystery Challenge. I was supposed to read 8 books all written by male authors and written before 1960. The challenge was a lot of fun and led me to discover some wonderful new authors like Saradindu Bandophadhay and Rex Stout, the challenge also gave me the chance to read books from my favorite author John Dickson Carr, as you can see from the list below the most recurring name below would be John Dickson Carr/Carter Dickson.

The challenge was hosted by Bev @ my readers block.

"Cherchez le homme"

1. Some Buried Caesar by Rex Stout

2. The Case of the constant suicides by John Dickson Carr

3. The Case of the Crooked Candle by Erle Stanley Gardner

4. Picture Imperfect and other Byomkesh Bakshi Mysteries by Saradindu Bandyopadhyay

5. The Peacock Feather Murders by Carter Dickson

6. Till Death Do Us Part by John Dickson Carr

7. The Curse of the Bronze Lamp aka Lord of the Sorcerers by Carter Dickson

8. Trial and Error by Anthony Berkeley

  1. Woo Hoo! Congratulations! I haven't been as good about checking up on folks this year as I was last year (Somebody removed several hours a week from my schedule when I wasn't looking. I haven't tracked them down yet.) But I'm happy to see that you've finished. Be watching after the end of the year for the winner's circle post...I'll be handing out prizes.....

  3. Dear Rishi

Congratulations. But why aren't you reading 8 books from any of the other categories? Reading 16 books means you definitely win a prize from Bev's fabulous library (Ask me, I got a copy of A Coffin for Dimitrios, last year). And since you love vintage mysteries, it is going to be most enjoyable too:)
